Late Night Hosts Mock James Comey Senate Hearing

It was an historic day Thursday as James Comey took his place in front of the Senate Intelligence Committee to give his testimony on the whole Trump-Flynn-Russia saga. And late night hosts couldn't but help but notice just how little he actually said about Russia. Trevor Noah on The Daily Show compared it to a clean version of a hip hop song with all the good stuff being erased. Meanwhile, Stephen Colbert of The Late Show With Stephen Colbert jumped right into interrogating Comey himself in a bit where he asked Comey if there is any evidence that President Trump colluded with Russia. Comey said it wasn't a question he could answer in an open setting so Colbert asked him, "What if we made a pillow fort? Would you tell me in there?" Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon took a different approach and pointed out the high drama with a video cutting between Comey and soap opera stars reacting to the things he said. But it wasn't just the trial that was high drama. Seth Meyers on Late Night With Seth Meyers noted that during the hearing White House staffers were frantically trying to keep Trump busy to avoid a Tweetstorm saying, "It's a sad state of affairs when the White House staff has to handle the president like a toddler on a road trip."
