Nicole Kidman’s bubblegum pink velvet dress is a surprise look for fall
Bright colors and floral prints typically make you think of spring or summer, but one of our fave stars just reminded us that colors know no seasonal limit. Nicole Kidman was a straight stunner in a cotton candy pink dress we just can’t get over.
The Big Little Lies star gave Nashville something to talk about at the CMT celebration. But it wasn’t just the in-your-face millennial pink color that caught our eye — it’s the material that truly made this a must-have fall look.
Super luxe velvet:
Velvet was a major fashion trend last year and it’s continuing to go strong for fall 2017. It’s the one-two combo of the fun color and fabric that makes this look a winner in our fall fashion trend book. But the other details were just as fun.
The ruching at the bust added a nice visual element and the structured shoulder has an ’80s feel, without being too ’80s.
Though Nicole’s Versace dress is straight from the spring 2018 runway, the midi length is pretty ideal for fall. Can’t you just see her wearing this with an ankle or over-the-knee boot and a bomber jacket? But for this particular look, Nicole went with strappy silver sandals.
With a color and material this rich, the actress didn’t need much in the accessories department, minus a dainty Versace clutch and a few statement rings.

But the night wasn’t just about Nicole’s killer style. She was on the red carpet to support country singer husband Keith Urban during the CMT Artists of the Year celebration. And the two looked absolutely adorable together. Plus, while she was posing with her hubby on the carpet, we noticed another detail on Nicole’s bubblegum pink dress. It has slits!
