Niagara Falls man sentenced for 2022 shooting death

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A Niagara Falls man has been sentenced for the shooting death of another man on Pine Avenue in 2022, the Niagara County District Attorney’s office said Thursday.

38-year-old Michael Hamilton was sentenced to 17 years in prison in the death of 22-year-old Jason Chapman of Buffalo on July 12, 2022.

Hamilton was initially charged with first-degree murder, but pleaded guilty to first-degree manslaughter in November.
