NHL roundup: Kings' Clifford fined for kneeing

Los Angeles Kings forward Kyle Clifford was fined $2,756.41 by the NHL for kneeing Edmonton Oilers forward Ryan Nugent-Hopkins in in Sunday's game, the league announced Monday.

The incident occurred at 7:41 of the first period. No penalty was assessed on the play.

Clifford has one goal in 11 games this season.

---Thomas Vanek, who was traded from the Buffalo Sabres to the New York Islanders on Sunday in exchange for left wing Matt Moulson, a first-round pick in 2014 and a second-round selection in 2015, will make his Islanders debut Tuesday night against the Rangers at the Coliseum.

---New York Rangers goalie Henrik Lundqvist will be in the starting lineup in the Rangers' home opener against Montreal on Monday after he missed the past two games with a lower-body injury.

---The Columbus Blue Jackets reassigned forward Ryan Craig to Springfield (Mass.) of the American Hockey League on Monday.

Craig, 31, has not scored in three games with the Blue Jackets this season.
