Feb 2 (The Sports Xchange) - The Carolina Hurricanes recalled goalie Cam Ward from the Charlotte Checkers of the American Hockey League on Sunday. Ward is 6-7-5 with a 3.15 goals-against average and an .895 save percentage in 19 games with the Hurricanes this season. He missed 14 games with a lower-body injury. He was activated from injured reserve Thursday and played in two games for the Checkers on a conditioning stint. He went 1-1 with a 2.02 goals-against average and a .937 save percentage. Ward, 29, is the franchise's all-time leader in games played by a goalie (450), wins (220) and shutouts (21), and won a Stanley Cup in 2006. - - The Nashville Predators reassigned forwards Simon Moser and Colton Sissons to the Milwaukee Admirals of the AHL. Moser made his NHL debut Saturday night at the St. Louis Blues, playing 10:21. Sissons has appeared in Nashville's past three games, notching an assist in his first career game on Tuesday at the Winnipeg Jets. - - The Columbus Blue Jackets recalled defenseman Tim Erixon from their AHL affiliate in Springfield just a few days after sending him down. Erixon has played in just two games with the Blue Jackets this season. - - Detroit Red Wings forward Cory Emmerton cleared waivers and was sent to Grand Rapids of the AHL.
