March 3 (The Sports Xchange) - The Nashville Predators recalled goaltender Pekka Rinne from his weekend conditioning assignment with the Milwaukee Admirals of the AHL on Monday. Rinne, a two-time Vezina Trophy finalist, missed 51 games after having hip surgery to deal with an E.Coli infection. He is expected to start Tuesday night against the Pittsburgh Penguins. Rinne, 31, stopped 33 of 35 shots in two wins with the Admirals over the weekend. - - The NHL suspended Washington Capitals defenseman Dmitry Orlov two games without pay for boarding Philadelphia Flyers forward Brayden Schenn during Sunday's game, the league announced Monday. The incident occurred at 9:33 of the third period of the Capitals' 5-4 overtime loss. Orlov was assessed a major penalty for boarding. Orlov will forfeit $7,076.92 in salary for the suspension. - - The Chicago Blackhawks agreed to terms with forward Brandon Bollig on a three-year contract extension Monday. The new deal runs through the end of the 2016-17 season. The team did not release the financial terms, but NHL.com reported that it is worth an average of $1.25 million per season. Bollig has a career-high 12 points (six goals and six assists) with a team-high 138 hits and 69 penalty minutes in 62 games this season. - - The Edmonton Oilers signed goaltender Ben Scrivens to a two-year contract extension Monday. Lindback was sent to Syracuse for conditioning last Wednesday and played two games in coming back from a lower-body injury. He had a 1.54 goals-against-average, .939 save percentage and one shutout. Gudlevskis, 21, drafted in the fifth round last year, is 11-8-2 with a 2.69 GAA and .900 save percentage in 22 AHL games this season. - - Detroit Red Wings right winger Johan Franzen, New Jersey Devils center Adam Henrique and Minnesota Wild goaltender Darcy Kuemper were named the NHL's "Three Stars" for the week. Franzen had three goals and two assists in two games to lead the Red Wings to two road wins following the Olympic break. Henrique had three consecutive multi-point games, sharing the NHL lead with four goals, six points and two power-play goals.
