Sharks 3, Blackhawks 2 (Shootout) Logan Couture and Joe Pavelski converted both of San Jose's shots in a shootout, leading the Sharks to a win over the Chicago Blackhawks. The Sharks (27-10-6) lost two of their previous three games. However, they are 6-2-0 in their past eight games. Chicago (29-7-9) lost for the sixth consecutive time when a game extended beyond regulation, despite 40 saves from Corey Crawford. Jason Demers and Brent Burns scored in regulation for San Jose while Chicago got scores from Niklas Hjalmarsson and Michal Rozsival. - - - Ducks 4, Canucks 3 (Overtime) Corey Perry scored the game-winning power-play goal with 1.3 seconds remaining in overtime as the Anaheim Ducks defeated the Vancouver Canucks. With Perry's 23rd goal of the season, Anaheim (31-8-5) remained undefeated in regulation through 19 games while Jonas Hiller extended a personal record by winning his 11th straight game. Vancouver (23-13-8) had a goal and two assists from center Henrik Sedin, three assists from Daniel Sedin, and Eddie Lack stopped 45 shots but the Canucks still lost their fourth consecutive game. - - - Penguins 6, Jets 5 Pittsburgh star center Evgeni Malkin scored two goals in his return to the ice as the Pittsburgh Penguins tied a franchise record by winning their 13th consecutive home game. Malkin, who sat out the previous nine games with a leg injury, tied the game at 5-5 at 8:29 in the third before team mate Matt Niskanen netted the winner about four minutes later. James Neal also had two goals and an assist for the Penguins (31-12-1) while Evander Kane scored twice for the Jets (19-21-5) and added an assist. - - - Oilers 5, Lightning 3 Boyd Gordon and Taylor Hall scored third-period goals 2:10 apart to give Edmonton its first win in five games. Jordan Eberle scored twice for the Oilers (14-26-5) who led 3-1 but saw Tampa Bay tie the score in the second. Victor Hedman, Valtteri Filppula and Nikita Kucherov scored for the Lightning (25-13-4) in the defeat. - - - Hurricanes 2, Predators 1 Jeff Skinner remained red hot, scoring his 20th goal of the season with 3:31 left, and Carolina Hurricanes extended their season-best winning streak to four straight. Skinner's goal was his 16th since Dec. 3, and he added an assist on Carolina's (18-16-9) first goal. Hurricanes goalie Anton Khudobin won his third straight over a four-day period since returning from a bad ankle sprain that sidelined him for 32 games.
