Ducks 3, Capitals 2 Defenseman Hampus Lindholm snapped a shot past Capitals rookie goaltender Philipp Grubauer with 5:36 remaining in the third period as Anaheim rallied from a 2-0 deficit to beat Washington. Lindholm's winner extended the Ducks' win streak to nine games, sending them into the Christmas break with the NHL's best record at 27-7-5. The Capitals got first-period goals from Mikhail Grabovski and Niklas Backstrom to jump out front but still lost for the third time in four games to fall to 19-14-4. - - - Stars 5, Kings 2 Jamie Benn had a goal and two assists and center Tyler Seguin added a goal and an assist as the Dallas Stars defeated the Los Angeles Kings. Goaltender Kari Lehtonen stopped 30 Los Angeles shots for the Stars (18-12-6), who won their 11th road game of the season. Los Angeles rookie goaltender Martin Jones failed to set an NHL record by losing his first game in his ninth career start, and the Kings fell to 26-8-4 and lost ground to the division-leading Anaheim Ducks. - - - Sharks 5, Avalanche 4 (Shootout) Logan Couture and left winger Patrick Marleau scored in the shootout to give the San Jose Sharks a wild win over the Colorado Avalanche. Five different goal-scorers found the net for Ottawa, including Bobby Ryan with his 17th of the season, as they ended a seven-game win streak for the Penguins (27-11-1). - - - Flames 4, Blues 3 (Shootout) Joe Colborne scoring the winner in the shootout as the Calgary Flames stormed back from down 3-1 to overtake St. Louis. Mike Cammalleri and Mark Giordano both scored in the third period to tie the game for Calgary (14-17-6) and send it into extra time. Blues (24-7-5) goaltender Jaroslav Halak made 26 stops in a losing cause. - - - Bruins 6, Predators 2 Jarome Iginla scored a pair of goals as Boston registered a win over Nashville. The Bruins (25-10-2) won for the seventh time in nine games, giving coach Claude Julien his 400th win behind an NHL bench. Nashville (16-17-4) dropped its fourth straight game and is 3-7-2 in its last 12 matches. - - - Blackhawks 5, Devils 2 Blackhawks right wing Patrick Sharp scored a pair of goals to lead the Chicago Blackhawks to a win over the New Jersey Devils. Sharp now has scored 10 goals in his last 13 games and 18 overall second highest on the Blackhawks (26-7-6) along with 18 assists. New Jersey fell to 15-16-7. - - - Lightning 6, Panthers 1 The Tampa Bay Lightning made it three straight wins this season over instate rival Florida Panthers with their fifth consecutive win overall. Lightning (23-11-3, 49 points) goalie Ben Bishop won his 20th game of the season, which puts him in second place in the league, and the red-hot team got two goals from J.T. Brown. - - - Flyers 4, Wild 1 Wayne Simmonds scored two goals, goaltender Steve Mason made 26 saves, and the Philadelphia Flyers beat the Minnesota Wild to extend their home winning streak to nine games. Smith backed into the net, and after a replay review, Pysyk was credited with the winning goal to sink Phoenix (19-10-7). - - - Rangers 2, Maple Leafs 1 (Shootout) Goaltender Cam Talbot made 25 saves to lead the New York Rangers to a shootout win over the Toronto Maple Leafs. J.T. Miller scored for New York in regulation while Mats Zuccarello and Derek Stepan scored in the shootout to improve the Rangers to 18-18-2. Toronto fell to 18-16-5 despite goaltender Jonathan Bernier making 42 saves. - - - Islanders 3, Red Wings 0 Evgeni Nabokov made 23 saves for his 56th career shutout and the New York Islanders beat the Detroit Red Wings. Kyle Okposo, Michael Grabner and Casey Cizikas scored for the Islanders (11-20-7), who have the NHL's third-worst record. Petr Mrazek stopped 16 shots for Detroit (17-13-9). - - - Oilers 6, Jets 2 The Edmonton Oilers ended a six-game losing streak with a desperately-needed triumph over the visiting Winnipeg Jets on Monday. The Oilers (12-24-3) broke open a 3-2 game with three goals in the third period to win for the first time since Dec. 10 and quell their angry fan base. For the Jets (16-18-5), the losing streak is two games. - - - Blue Jackets 4, Hurricanes 3 Jack Skille scored with 2:34 remaining as the Columbus Blue Jackets rallied in the waning minutes to defeat the Carolina Hurricanes. Skille, who was playing in only his ninth game, has four goals. Blue jackets center Ryan Johansen scored his team-leading 15th goal of the season with 4:01 left to tie the game and set up the winner.
