(Adds later games) Dec 9 (The Sports Xchange) - Highlights of Monday's National Hockey League games. - - - Penguins 2, Blue Jackets 1 Receiving goals from the NHL's two leading scorers, centers Evgeni Malkin and Sidney Crosby, the Pittsburgh Penguins skated past the Columbus Blue Jackets. Malkin, who missed the previous two games due to a lower-body injury, opened the scoring in the second period before Crosby put Pittsburgh up 2-0 in the third with his 16th goal of the season. Marc Andre-Fleury made 32 saves for the Metropolitan Division-leading Penguins (21-10-1). Pittsburgh played without suspended James Neal and injured Brooks Orpik, while Columbus (12-15-3) was without injured Marion Gaborik and Sergei Bobrovsky. - - - Senators 5, Flyers 4 (shootout) Jason Spezza scored the only goal in a shootout, and goalie Craig Anderson stopped all three shots he faced in the tiebreaker as the Ottawa Senators outlasted the Philadelphia Flyers. Winger Clarke MacArthur scored two goals for the Senators (11-14-5), and Kyle Turris and defenseman Patrick Wiercioch added goals as they snapped a five-game home ice losing streak. Wingers Michael Raffl and Jakub Voracek and defensemen Luke Schenn and Kimmo Timonen scored for the Flyers (13-14-2) who fell to 1-2 in shootouts. - - - Ducks 5, Islanders 2 Corey Perry scored twice to lead the Anaheim Ducks to a victory over the New York Islanders. Defenseman Cam Fowler had a goal and two assists as the Ducks (21-7-5) won their third in a row and handed the Islanders (8-18-5) their 10th consecutive road loss. Anaheim goalie Jonas Hiller finished with 35 saves, while New York goalie Anders Nilsson stopped 26 shots. John Tavares and Thomas Vanek netted shots for the Islanders who held a 2-1 edge before Anaheim closed the game with four straight goals. Perry tallied the final two to give him 20 on the season. - - - Canucks 2, Hurricanes 0 Eddie Lack stopped 31 shots for the first shutout of his NHL career, and the Vancouver Canucks blanked the Carolina Hurricanes. The Canucks (18-10-5) posted their fifth consecutive win and gained a share of fifth place in the Western Conference. The Hurricanes (13-13-5) suffered their first loss in four games. Carolina last won in Vancouver on Oct. 15, 1999, a span of six games. Defenseman Chris Tanev and right winger Jannik Hansen, into an empty net in the game's final minute, scored for Vancouver.
