NH expecting 6.5 million visitors this winter

CONCORD, N.H. (AP) — New Hampshire tourism officials are expecting 6.5 million people to visit the state for skiing, snowmobiling and other winter sports between now and the end of February, which is about 5 percent higher than last year.

It's estimated the visitors will spend about $891 million, up by 7 percent over last year.

Most visitors will be from other New England states, but more travelers are expected from New York and eastern Canada.
