NFD: 3 people and 3 pets displaced after house fire

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Crews responded in Norfolk to a residential fire at the 3200 block of Bapaume Avenue on Friday.

The call came in around 11:30 a.m. Crews arrived to find smoke and flames in the living room area of the residence, officials said. They made an interior attack and were able to extinguish the fire without much extension into the other areas of the home. No injuries were reported, and a smoke detector alerted an occupant who was napping.

Three adults and three pets were displaced. Red Cross is assisting. Fire control was called at 11:40 p.m.
