News13’s Bob Juback, Nicole Boone to be honored by South Carolina Broadcasters Association

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) — Longtime News13 anchor Bob Juback and former News13 anchor Nicole Boone will be honored by the South Carolina Broadcasters Association with a Masters’ Award on Friday night in Columbia.

Juback and Boone will both get their own award of distinction for their years of service in the broadcast industry.

Juback has been with News13 since 1984, joining as a sports anchor until 1987. He then moved to the news anchor desk where he was later paired with Boone, with the two of them anchoring together for nearly 30 years.

Boone started at News13 as a reporter and producer back in 1989. After excelling in those roles and in part-time anchoring, she was promoted to full-time anchor in 1993, pairing with Juback.

Boone won one of her first awards in 1998 when she was presented the “Best TV News Anchor” award from the Readers’ Poll Awards of the Five O’Clock Friday publication. She’s also been voted “Best TV Personality” several times by readers of the Morning News and SCNOW in Florence.

Readers of the Horry Independent newspaper chain also chose Boone “Best TV Personality” during their Readers’ Choice Awards.

Juback has been an active volunteer in the community for years, serving the local American Red Cross, South Carolina Disabilities and Special Needs and many others. His passion has always been helping children.

Juback co-hosted the annual Children’s Miracle Network Telethon to support McLeod Children’s Hospital. He’s also given his time to help Treats for Special Kids, an event for disabled children who can’t trick or treat.
