Location: Dallas, Texas
Price: $9,995,000
The Skinny: Created within the shell of a historic 1919 Federal-style building, this 21,000-square-foot single-family mansion boasts some impressive modern interiors, six bedrooms, 11 bathrooms, a 16-car climate controlled garage in the basement, an elevator, and a grand sweeping staircase connecting the residential floors. The location is the problem here, as the house is situated on a busy, multi-lane thoroughfare, across the street from a mall, and adjacent to a Kinko's. With the lack of any sort of charming neighborhood, this place might find it hard to achieve its sky-high $10M asking price. At least a glassed-in courtyard on the second floor provides some light and air without having to open a window to the traffic.
