Newman Center at Buff State listed for sale by Diocese of Buffalo
BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — The Newman Center at Buffalo State University has been listed for sale by the Diocese of Buffalo, it announced Thursday.
The Newman Center, located at 1219 Elmwood Ave., housed the Catholic campus ministry at Buff State for decades, according to the diocese. The two-story brick structure is believed to have been built in the 1940s.
It is listed for sale through Howard Hanna Commercial at $649,000.
The diocese said a search is underway for a new location for Buff State’s Newman Center.
The Elmwood Avenue building joins the Catholic Center and Christ the King Seminary as diocesan properties currently up for sale. News 4 WIVB reported in October that the Diocese of Buffalo offered $100 million to settle hundreds of abuse cases.
