Newlyweds seek answers after photos stolen from wedding photographer

OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) – Jeffrey and Cheyenne Lovchik just had their dream wedding the last weekend in February.

“The day was incredible,” said Lovchik. “The party we had, it was just amazing.”

However, soon after the newlyweds returned home from their honeymoon on Tuesday, they got a call from their wedding photographer.

“I mean, my wife just immediately broke down. She couldn’t even respond,” said Lovchik. “Just pure shock… Just how does that happen?”

The photographer, Robert Jacobs, said he was getting ready for another shoot when he realized thousands of dollars worth of his equipment was stolen out of the backseat of his car, including an SD card with the Lovchik’s wedding photos. The backup copies were also stolen.

“I thought I was going to throw up,” said Jacobs.

Jacobs said his car was parked outside his Edmond apartment when the theft happened. He’s filed a police report.

“I knew I wanted to get hold of them as fast as possible and let them know, ‘hey, this is what happened,’” said Jacobs.

Fortunately the pictures are insured, but the memories captured are irreplaceable.

“Anger, frustration, devastation. I mean, kind of a lot of feelings going on right now,” said Lovchik. “We were just in such anticipation of getting everything back and starting this life together.”

They’re hoping anyone who comes across the SD card with the photos on them, maybe at a pawn shop or on facebook marketplace, will come forward.

“Hopefully they recognize, wow, this was a big moment,” said Lovchik. “And if they can find us and we can get in contact, we can try to get those photos back.”

If you know something, Lovchik and Jacobs want to hear from you directly. You can call KFOR and we can get you in contact with them.
