Newest Lima park ranger introduced at mayor's press conference

Nov. 10—LIMA — Kevin Lane was introduced Wednesday during the weekly mayor's media briefing as the newest park ranger for the city of Lima. Chief Park Ranger Randy Kohli said Lane is currently completing some schooling before joining the city as a full-time uniformed ranger.

"You'll see Kevin out and about doing the projects in the parks and the like for a little while, but then he's going to be going to school at night," Kohli said. "Once he gets that all done, he'll be out in the full uniform, doing all the ranger duties that we do throughout the city of Lima."

Lane said he looks forward to beginning his new position.

"I appreciate this opportunity from the city to achieve and I hope to do great things with the community and for the community with my time. Hopefully, it's quite a while," he said.

Kohli said more park rangers are needed by the city and urged interested citizens to take the Park Ranger Civil Service examination that will be offered at 9 a.m. on Dec. 11 in the Cambridge Center, 418 N. Central Ave.
