Newark Woman Has Been Missing For 2 Months: Police

NEWARK, NJ — Newark police are asking for the public’s help finding a 53-year-old local woman. She was reported missing on June 13, authorities said.

According to the Newark Department of Public Safety, Elvira Marques, 53, of Newark, was last seen at approximately 6 a.m. on Monday, June 11 in the area of South and Broad streets. She was described as 5 feet 6 inches and from 140 to 150 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair worn in a bob-cut style. She also has a tattoo on her left arm, and was wearing blue jeans when last seen (see below photos).

“While police are actively searching for Ms. Marques, we seek the public’s assistance in quickly locating and returning her to her family,” the NDPS stated.
