Nevada grad assistant facing misdemeanor charges after allegedly crashing car into casino
Nevada graduate assistant Jeff Nady is facing five misdemeanor charges after he allegedly crashed his car into a Reno-area casino.
The team has suspended Nady from his post, according to the Reno Gazette Journal. He was arrested on Oct. 27.
“The officer observed the suspect strike an exit sign and flee the scene,” a Sparks Police Department statement said. “The officer called for assistance and observed the vehicle drive recklessly onto Nugget Ave. The vehicle continued westbound on Nugget Avenue until trying to make the turn onto northbound 11th street. The driver lost control of the vehicle and crashed into the Nugget Casino Hotel. The suspect fled from the accident by leaving his vehicle and entered the Nugget Casino Hotel where he was apprehended by a Sparks Police Officer.”
Nady, who played offensive line for the Wolf Pack from 2008-12, is facing charges of driving under the influence, having an open container in a vehicle, being intoxicated while possessing a firearm, obstructing an officer and leaving the scene of an accident. He was also cited for reckless driving.
Nevada, 1-7, was off in Week 9.
