Nev. governor names execs to tourism board

Gov. Brian Sandoval names ski, basketball executives to Nevada Commission on Tourism

CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) -- Gov. Brian Sandoval has appointed executives from the ski industry and the Reno Bighorns basketball team to the Nevada Commission on Tourism.

Sandoval announced Tuesday that John Wagnon and Herb Santos Jr. will be joining the panel effective immediately.

Wagnon is a 40-year veteran of the snow sport industry and currently works in marketing for Vail Resorts. He's also served on the board of the Lake Tahoe Visitors Authority, Ski Lake Tahoe, and the Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority.

Santos is the managing partner of the Reno Bighorns and owns his own law firm in Reno. He's a graduate of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and McGeorge School of Law in Sacramento, Calif.

The two are filling out the remainder of board terms for Blaise Carrig and Wayne Burke.
