Nevada gambling revenues fall 11 percent in November compared with 2011
CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) -- Nevada state gambling revenues fell 11 percent in November from the same month a year ago, as football bettors beat the house and the Las Vegas Strip lacked a major boxing match that pumped up casino coffers in 2011.
The Nevada Gaming Control Board reported Thursday that casinos won $782.6 million in November, on which the state collected $45.7 million taxes. The tax revenues are 20.2 percent from the November 2011.
Analysts say last year's monthly winnings were bolstered by the Manny Pacquiao bout against Juan Manuel Marquez.
Las Vegas Strip casinos pulled about $432 million, down 13 percent. Downtown casinos winnings were down 17 percent.
Reno casino revenues of $37 million were down 3 percent, while South Lake Tahoe's $18 million was up almost 27 percent.
