Netherlands extends $213 million in air defense and munitions aid to Ukraine

The Netherlands will provide more than EUR 200 million ($213 million) for international rapid delivery initiatives to supply Ukraine with additional air defense systems and artillery ammunition, Dutch Defense Minister Kajsa Ollongren announced on April 19.
She warned that the situation in Ukraine could become "critical," urging Kyiv’s international partners "to do everything possible" to help defend against Russian air strikes.
According to Ollongren, the military equipment funded by the Netherlands is already in Europe and "will reach Ukraine as soon as possible."

Specifically, the Netherlands will allocate EUR 150 million to the German air defense initiative for Ukraine. Another EUR 60 million will be spent on short-range anti-air systems meant to counter Russian drones.
Ollongren added that the Netherlands would support Estonia's initiative for rapid delivery of artillery munitions from existing stocks. The ministry noted that the Netherlands had previously announced a contribution of EUR 250 million ($266 million) to a similar Czech plan for Ukraine.
