The highly-anticipated second part of Netflix’s original series The Get Down drops on Friday (Apr. 7). The Baz Luhrmann and Nas-produced show follows a group of young musicians from the Bronx during the beginnings of hip-hop during the late-1970s.

Shaolin Fantastic (played by Shameik Moore), Ezekiel ‘Books’ Figuero (played by Justice Smith) and the Kipling brothers (Jaden Smith, Skylan Brooks and Tremaine Brown Jr.) are starting to make their mark on the scene with their urban beats, while Mylene Cruz (Herizen Guardiola) is starting to create a following of her own in the disco world. In the midst of their career upswings, the characters are still trying to navigate a world and an industry full of people who may not have their best intentions at heart.

In this exclusive clip, Mylene is getting ready to perform her new song “Toybox” at the Ruby Con. Not only will she be performing the same night as her idol Misty Holloway (Renee Elise Goldsberry), but an unexpected person is in the audience. “Toybox” was written for the show by singer-songwriter, Sia.
