Netflix TV ad tricks people into supporting very fake politician Frank Underwood

Tuesday was budget night in Australia, where people who cared about what the government was going to spend money on were glued to their television screens.

Interrupting the scintillating analysis on TV was an ad by Netflix, promoting the upcoming season of House of Cards

But instead of it being about the show, it was styled like your typical Aussie political campaign ad. And you guessed it, plenty of people fell for it.

The ad features two farmers, calling for people to support their chosen political leader — the show's lead character and current US president, Frank Underwood.

"The flamin' treasurer's at it again," a farmer tells the camera, even though we're not sure who actually uses the word "flamin'," aside from this guy.

TBH, we wouldn't mind Underwood for President of the earth. Others though, were flamin' shook.

 And there's more.

But there was plenty of praise for the news-jacking campaign too. We'll always have time for Underwood.
