Netflix trolls 'A Christmas Prince' die-hard fans, setting social media spinning

Some would say that there is no greater violation than someone trolling through your watch history on Netflix. The popular streaming service shared a tweet on Monday that put many of its viewers into a frenzy over how much of their data is fair game for social media strategizing.

While we shouldn’t be shocked that it’s 2017 and online media services are surely surveying every keystroke we make, it remains unclear as to whether it’s appropriate for them to use the evidence to poke fun at their consumers.

The Morning Breath’s Jackie Oshry, a proud viewer of A Christmas Prince, shared an interesting theory as to why the other 52 viewers are so invested in the Christmas film. “When did Harry and Meghan Markle get engaged? I think 18 days ago,” she said. “These people have been inspired, and they’re watching it as a how-to-marry-a-royal.”

Sister and co-host Claudia agreed, adding, “We live in a data-driven world.” Claudia went on to say that she took no offense to this tweet, and if Netflix were to look at her data, it would realize that she has watched “at least one episode of Friends every day … for the past three years.
