“You love them, you want to keep them healthy, and try to keep them from as many sicknesses as possible, especially ones that you can try to prevent,” Melanie Martin, a parent, said.

Parents were invited from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. and they could bring their young children to get up-to-date on vaccines, play games, and get local, health resources.

“They’re going to have their vaccines when they go to school. We want everybody vaccinated. Those in school so that, that’s the way we prevent the disease,” Sylvia Warren, director of immunizations at Net Health, said.

Warren explained that since the pandemic, parents have been reluctant to keep up with their children’s shots.

“We’ve seen a great falling off of parents bringing their kids in for vaccinations after COVID, they just kind of lost the trust in it all with vaccinations so we’re rebuilding that, that’s what we’re trying to do,” Warren said.
