‘Needles in the Pines’ quilt show in Lufkin celebrates over 30 years of community

LUFKIN, Texas (KETK) – The Quilt Guild of the Pineywoods is hosting their ‘Needles in the Pines’ quilt show on Friday and Saturday in Lufkin.

According to a release, the quilt show will be taking place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday at the Lufkin High School cafeteria and admission is $5.

The event will reportedly feature a raffle, “Quilts of Valor” celebrating members of armed forces and “I Spy” quilts for children.

The release also said that there will be a special exhibit to celebrate late community member Suzanne Bell.

“She passed away about a year ago,” Sarah Bruce, coordinator for the Quilt Guild of the Pineywoods, said. “We have some of her quilts to exhibit and intend to honor her that way.”
