Nebraska to wear 1997 tribute uniforms vs. Wisconsin
Can you spot the differences in Nebraska’s 20th anniversary uniforms?
The Huskers will wear special uniforms vs. Wisconsin on Oct. 7 honoring the 1997 Nebraska team that went 13-0. They don’t look too different than what the Huskers currently wear; the most noticeable thing is the faux mesh on the numbers.
From Adidas:
Centered around a one-to-one recreation of the mesh jerseys worn during the 1990’s, adidas designers were able to recreate the visual aesthetic and texture of the traditional numbers by utilizing a new framis screen-printing technique that also allows for flexibility and movement. Additional detailing for the retro look includes the classic white pants and the traditional white Cornhuskers helmet that features a classic red “N” logo on the sides and accented with player numbers featured in red the back of the helmet.
It’s fun to see the Big Ten logo on the jerseys as Nebraska was a member of the Big 12 in 1997. The Huskers beat Texas A&M — another team no longer in the conference — 54-15 in the conference title game.
