Nebraska installing new I-80 tourism signs

NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (AP) — Nebraska is installing colorful new tourism signs along Interstate 80.

The old ones were erected in 1971 and had become hard to read.

Nebraska tourism director Kathy McKillip says the new signs' vivid colors are a result of a high-contrast reproduction process called posterization.

She says all 37 new signs should be in place within the next six weeks, depending on the weather.
