Chief Kotchik noted two suspects, Dakota James Whitmire, 32, of Wyoming, and Luis Angel Junior Martinez, 36, of Exeter, were arrested Thursday on illegal weapons charges. Their bail was set at $100,000.

Six out of the 19 suspects, warrants have been issued but investigators have yet to arrest them.

“If you’re gonna sell drugs, they’re gonna get you. One way or another, sooner or later, we’re coming for you,” said Chief Kotchik.

From Hazleton to Pittston, the suspects were picked up all across the county.

“It was undercover controlled buys of fentanyl, crack cocaine, meth, methamphetamine, powder cocaine, the hard stuff,” stated Kotchik.

The investigation was a combined effort involving the Kingston Police Narcotics Division, Luzerne County Drug Task Force, Luzerne County District Attorney’s Office, ATF, U.S. Marshals, Pittston City Police, and Wilkes-Barre City Police.

“We always look for information, we’re always looking for residents to come forward, however minor that information may be, we’ll take it,” explained Officer Donnell Allen of the Kingston Police Department.

“If we rush those investigations, or we don’t have enough evidence, then some of those cases could get tossed out, and that’s the last thing we want to do, we want to make sure once we have you, we have you,” said Officer Allen.

28/22 News was the only television crew on the scene as the suspects were brought to the Kingston Police Department for processing before their arraignments.
