Nearly 2,000 evacuate Kharkiv Oblast following Russian assault, says regional governor

Over the past day, 1,775 people were evacuated from Chuhuiv, Kharkiv, and Bohodukhiv districts of Kharkiv Oblast due to intensified Russian shelling, reported regional governor Oleh Synehubov on Telegram on May 11.

1,048 local residents were evacuated from Chuhuiv district, 440 from Kharkiv district, 12 from Bohodukhiv district and 275 people were evacuated by volunteers.

He said that Ukrainian troops repelled 13 attacks in Kupyansk sector over the past day, in particular in areas of Synkivka and Berestove.

In Slobozhansky sector, Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled 9 attacks, in particular in areas of Krasne, Morokhovets, Oliynykove and Hatyshche.

Russian assault in Kharkiv Obalst

Ministry of Defense reported that Russian troops attempted to break through Ukrainian defense line in Vovchansk sector of Kharkiv Oblast at about 5 a.m. EET on May 10. Armed Forces repelled invaders' attacks.

The head of the Center for Countering Disinformation (CCI), Andriy Kovalenko, said that despite escalation at the front, Russia does not have resources to reach Kharkiv.

Synehubov said that Ukrainian Armed Forces are confidently holding their positions and have not lost a single meter of territory in Kharkiv Oblast.

DeepState analysts also reported that enemy begun to intensify its activities in the Kharkiv Oblast. Russia is trying to enter and gain a foothold in a number of settlements along the border, in particular, in Strilecha - Krasne - Pylna - Borysivka villages. Enemy is also attempting to enter settlements of Hatyshche and Pletenivka.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Armed Forces were aware of enemy's plans, so they met Russian assault with fire. He added that Ukrainian Armed Forces would redeploy forces to reinforce Kharkiv Oblast.
