WARREN, Ohio (WJW) – A fight over a parking space left a woman injured and missing her prosthetic eye, investigators say.

According to a Warren police report, a woman says she was assaulted just before 7 p.m. Friday on Duke Avenue S.E.

The woman told police she parked in the lot outside of her apartment building and had her sleeping child in her arms.

She said as she walked to her residence, her neighbor came outside yelling at her to move her car.

The woman said she put her child inside the home, and then went back to move the car.  She said her neighbors then hit the hood of her vehicle with a baseball bat.

The woman then claimed her neighbors tried to stab her. She said she punched one person and then was knocked to the ground.

She stated she was then “knocked out” by being hit in the head.

“When she regained consciousness the older suspect was holding her by the hair and hitting her in the head still,” the police report states. “The younger suspect was on top of her and had her fingers in her eyes, gouging at her eyes.”

The woman told officers her prosthetic eye was gouged from her eye socket and the eye went missing. She believes one of the suspects took her prosthetic eye.

Police warn of dangerous ‘pop up’ trend on local streets

The woman went to the hospital for treatment. She told investigators she was afraid to return home after the attack and threats made to her and her children.

The suspects, however, also filed a police report saying they were assaulted. They stated the argument was not over a parking space.

They said the woman drove on their lawn and through the parking lot. They also said the woman struck one person with a bat and bit her on the lower right arm.

Police are investigating. A felonious assault charge has been filed, but it’s unclear if others will be filed as well.
