‘NCIS’ Showrunner Gary Glasberg Inks New Overall Deal With CBS TV Studios

Gary Glasberg, executive producer/showrunner of NCIS and creator/executive producer of NCIS: New Orleans, has signed a three-year overall deal extension with CBS Television Studios, the studio behind the NCIS franchise.

Under the pact, Glasberg will continue as showrunner on NCIS and executive producer on both the mothership series and offshoot NCIS: New Orleans. Additionally, he will develop new projects for broadcast, cable, and streaming services.

Under Glasberg, NCIS finished the season as the most watched broadcast drama for the 7th consecutive year, averaging 20.19 million viewers in most current ratings. Last week’s Season 13 finale delivered 18.01 million in Live+same day, its largest audience since January, and ranked as the week’s #1 program in viewers and #3 in A18-49. NCIS recently received a two-season pickup, which will bring its run to 15 seasons.

Sophomore NCIS: New Orleans, which has been renewed for a third season, was the third most watched drama series this past season with 14.75 million viewers.

Glasberg, repped by CAA and Michael Gendler, joined NCIS in 2009 and took the reins as showrunner two years later. In addition to the series’ continuing strength on CBS, the veteran drama, along with its spinoffs, have been very popular internationally, making the franchise a big money-maker for CBS TV Studios and parent company CBS Corp.
