Giada De Laurentiis is denying rumors that NBC is trying to show her the door.

A new report claims that NBC is in the process of clearing out "Today" show talent with historical allegiance to Matt Lauer. That goes for on- and off-screen personalities: On Tuesday, the show's executive producer, Don Nash, unceremoniously left his role.

"Don is one of the nicest guys in the business, but he was part of 'Matt's club' headed by Jim Bell," Page Six reports, referencing the former "Today" EP. "They deny covering up for Matt, but they certainly catered to him, and they are very much entrenched in Lauer's legacy."

And some believe also tied up in that legacy is Food Network host De Laurentiis, who used to often appear on "Today." Rumors of an affair between De Laurentiis and Lauer first emerged in 2011, when they were seen together on a beach in Barbados. Lauer was there to film a show segment.

Both have steadfastly maintained that they are just friends: "She and I are friends and have been friends for ten years," Lauer told TMZ in 2015 in response to De Laurentiis' divorce announcement.

Romantic speculation aside, that longtime friendship may still jeopardize her chances of continuing to appear on the network -- but her rep says no way.

"Giada will still be making her appearances on 'Today' and we are currently working on her schedule to confirm," her rep said.
