NBA-National Basketball Association roundup

Nov 6 (The Sports Xchange) - New York Knicks center Tyson Chandler is expected to miss four to six weeks with a slight non-displaced fracture in his right fibula, the team announced Wednesday. Chandler was injured during the first quarter of Tuesday night's game against the Charlotte Bobcats when he collided with Bobcats point guard Kemba Walker. Tests on Wednesday revealed the fracture. The team said no surgery would be needed and that there was no ligament or nerve damage in the leg. - - The NBA fined Milwaukee forward Caron Butler $15,000 for an obscene gesture during the fourth quarter of the Bucks' 105-98 victory over the Boston Celtics on Friday night at TD Garden in Boston. The 33-year-old Butler apparently drew the fine for celebrating a 3-pointer that tied the score at 93 with 3:54 left. He finished the game with eight points and six assists, and is averaging 11.3 points in three games this season. - - Chicago Bulls point guard Derrick Rose says the NBA told him not to wear the Kinesio-Tape medical strips that he used the past two games to help him deal with soreness in his neck muscles. Rose told CSNChicago.com on Wednesday morning at the Bulls' shootaround in Indianapolis that he probably will take off the strips for the next game. Rose didn't have an answer for why he's not supposed to wear the strips, other than the possibility that it violates the league's strict uniform code. (Editing by Frank Pingue)
