NBA-National Basketball Association roundup

June 25 (The Sports Xchange) - The Dallas Mavericks reached an agreement to acquire center Tyson Chandler and guard Raymond Felton from the New York Knicks, Yahoo Sports reported Wednesday. The deal, which still needed final approval from the NBA, according to Yahoo, cost Dallas two starters -- point guard Jose Calderon and center Samuel Dalembert -- along with point guard Shane Larkin, reserve guard Wayne Ellington and the 34th and 51st picks in the second round of the 2014 NBA Draft. - - The Sacramento Kings officially extended a qualifying offer to point guard Isaiah Thomas, making him a restricted free agent, the team announced Wednesday. The Kings made the $1.1 million qualifying offer to retain refusal rights. - - Forward Nick Young, coming off the best season of his career, told the Los Angeles Lakers on Wednesday that he is declining the player option on his contract in order to become a free agent. Young averaged a career-high and team-leading 17.9 points plus 2.6 rebounds and 1.5 assists in 64 games last season, starting nine times. He twice came off the bench to score at least 40 points, and his 18.8-point scoring average as a reserve was the best in the NBA. - - Brooklyn Nets forward Alan Anderson is planning to opt out of the second year of his contract and test free agency next month, the New York Post reported Wednesday. Anderson, 31, came to the Nets as a free agent last summer after spending parts of the previous two seasons with the Toronto Raptors. He played in 78 regular-season games, averaging 7.2 points and shooting 34 percent from 3-point range before averaging 5.9 points in the 12 playoff games. (Editing by Frank Pingue)
