Navarre Beach Fire Rescue offers free beach wheelchairs to beach-goers

SANTA ROSA COUNTY, Fla. (WKRG) — As spring break approaches, the Navarre Beach Fire Rescue is reminding people that anyone can enjoy the beach.

According to a Facebook post, there are three beach wheelchairs available on Navarre Beach. The wheelchairs are first-come-first-serve and are available from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. or from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. 7 days per week.

The wheelchairs are available at no cost.

Navarre Beach was given the three beach wheelchairs thanks to Surfing’s Evolution and Preservation Foundation, according to previous reporting. The SandRider wheelchairs are designed with bigger, wider wheels that make rolling on sand possible.
