Nature Matters presents talk by Ed Kolodziej

"Roads, Car Tires, and Coho Salmon," a Nature Matters talk by Ed Kolodziej, takes place at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Fort George Lovell Taproom. The doors open at 6 p.m.

Kolodziej and his team researched why coho salmon were dying in Puget Sound for many years, and they concluded that pollution linked to traffic, dense populations and roadway runoff was causing the mortality events. He has also collaborated with the North Coast Watershed Association to test streams around the North Coast for chemicals associated with roadway runoff.

The event is presented by the North Coast Watershed Association, Lewis and Clark National Historical Park and the Lewis & Clark National Park Association.
