National Weather Service: Four more tornadoes confirmed from May 7 storms
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — The National Weather Service in Tulsa confirms four more tornadoes from the storms on May 7 after recently surveying damaged areas.
These tornadoes were confirmed by the National Weather Service:
Cain (Crawford County) – EF1
NWS said this tornado uprooted trees with a few falling onto homes and snapped large tree limbs.
The tornado was on the ground for 0.6 miles and had peak winds of 90 to 100 mph.
Winslow (Washington County) – EF1
This tornado was on the ground for three minutes destroying an outbuilding and uprooting trees.
It had peak winds of 90 to 100 mph, according to NWS.
Fern (Franklin County) – EF1
NWS said this tornado developed over Fern Mountain and moved northeast uprooting and snapping trees. It also damaged outbuildings.
Peak winds with this tornado were between 95 and 105 mph.
Van Buren (Crawford County) – EF1
The NWS says the EF-1 tornado in Van Buren touched down 1 mile west of Shilbey to 3 miles south-southwest of Dyer from 2:43-2:53 a.m.
The peak wind speed was 100 to 110 mph. It was 9.2 miles tall and its maximum width was 1100 yards.
The National Weather Service previously confirmed three tornadoes from the May 7 early morning storms in Odell, Mountainburg and Crosses.
