National team players, fans react to the USMNT's World Cup failure
For the first time since 1986, the U.S. men will not be represented at the World Cup.
In an absolute shocker, the U.S. men’s national soccer team was eliminated from World Cup 2018 contention, losing 2-1 to Trinidad and Tobago.
Former national team players were some of the first to react to the news on Twitter.
We must learn from this and move forward to ensure a brighter future for soccer in the US. Thanks to the fans for always believing ⚽️

Fans across the country were equally shocked and disappointed.
The #USMNT just disrespected the American flag way more than any NFL player ever has.
