National Parks Traveler Covers it All

There are a million resources travel writers could look to for information about America’s national parks. National Parks Traveler is one of the best. It’s not just about what to do in the parks; it also has information on behind-the-scenes political wrangling, local changes, upcoming events, and anything else that could affect your experience.

Longtime journalist Kurt Repanshek launched the site in 2005, making it the first website devoted to writing about the national parks. Its mission ever since has been to “educate the general public about the National Park System, increase awareness and understanding of issues affecting the national parks and the National Park Service, and build a stronger advocacy for protection and sound stewardship of the parks.” An honorable mission, indeed.
