National Healthcare Decisions Day set for April 16

Apr. 10—Hospice of Midland — along with other national, state and community organizations — are leading a massive effort to highlight the importance of advance healthcare decision-making — an effort that has culminated in the formal designation of April 16 as National Healthcare Decisions Day.

As a participating organization, Hospice of Midland is providing information and tools for the public to talk about their wishes with family, friends and healthcare providers, and execute written advance directives (healthcare power of attorney and living will) in accordance with Texas state laws.

On April 14, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., Hospice of Midland is welcoming the public at 911 West Texas Ave., with free information and assistance in completing advance directive forms. Conversation stations staffed with nurses and social workers to answer health care planning questions will also be available.

Help will be available in English and Spanish. Hospice of Midland is the first and only non-profit hospice in the Permian Basin.
