National Foster Care Month

GRAND JUNCTION, COLO. (KREX) — Mesa County Child Welfare and Adult Protection Services report that there are approximately 180 foster children in Mesa County, but only around 40 traditional foster families, leaving a significant gap to be filled.

WesternSlopeNow interviewed local foster parents, Andrew and Angela Johnson, who have been foster parents for almost two years. They have welcomed about eight placements into their home, with each child getting the opportunity to thrive. The Johnsons share their challenges and successes.
