Nashville police search for suspect, clues after teen found shot in field, later dies
Nashville police have launched a homicide investigation after a teen was shot and killed in Madison Monday afternoon.
Detectives believe they're searching for a suspect who knew the victim, 19-year-old Kenneth Buford Jr.
Police were called to a field about 3 p.m. Monday off North Gallatin Pike near McKinley Street and found Buford in critical condition. The teen was taken to Skyline Medical Center, where he died, police said.
"The investigation to this point strongly indicates that Buford was shot by someone he knew," police said.
No suspects have been publicly identified or arrested as of 4 a.m. Tuesday.
