Nashville police: Fourteen-year-old girl killed in ATV crash with Jeep

A 14-year-old was killed when the ATV she was a passenger on hit an SUV in the Bellshire Terrace area of Nashville.

Metro Nashville Police said in a Monday statement that Melanie Mozqueda died at Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt.

The crash happened around 6 p.m. Saturday on Darbytown Drive, police said.

The ATV was being driven by another 14-year-old when it crashed into a Jeep Patriot. The teen driver suffered minor injuries, but was also taken to the hospital for treatment, police said. The driver of the Jeep was uninjured.

Neither of the girls were wearing helmets, police said.
