Rocket explosion in Virginia seen from multiple angles

The explosion of a privately owned, unmanned rocket moments after liftoff was captured on professional and amateur video from multiple vantage points on Tuesday night.

The Antares rocket and Cygnus cargo module, owned by Orbital Sciences Corp., burst into flames shortly after takeoff at NASA's launch complex at Wallops Island, Virginia. The cargo ship was carrying 5,000 pounds of equipment for astronauts aboard the International Space Station.

No one was injured on the ground, officials said. NASA is investigating.

The fireball could be seen from waterfront locations in Virginia. Even a local pilot in the area was able to capture footage from the air.
