Naples woman arrested for allegedly stabbing boyfriend after argument spurred by call

A Naples woman faces several charges after authorities say she stabbed her boyfriend during a domestic incident in Golden Gate on Tuesday, which involved a phone call from his child's mother.

Jerica Foresyth, 41, faces aggravated battery and criminal mischief charges.

The Collier County Sheriff's Office said detectives canvassed the neighborhood for possible camera footage of the incident. The footage revealed Foresyth brandished a knife during an altercation with the victim, a 44-year-old man, in which she slashes a tire on his vehicle.

Through their investigation, detectives determined Foresyth stabbed the victim in his leg, bottom and back. The arrest report says the boyfriend had three puncture wounds. He was taken to Gulf Coast Medical Center in Fort Myers.

According to the arrest report, when deputies spoke with Foresyth, she said the victim came to visit her while she worked from home, and that he came inside for about 30 minutes.

She said her boyfriend stepped outside when she heard "what sounded like his tire popping" in his vehicle, parked along the driveway.

Foresyth said she then heard a "thud" at the front door and found him bleeding on the ground. She told deputies she didn't see the suspect "and only relayed the information" her boyfriend gave her.

When deputies took Foresyth into custody for questioning, she admitted to the altercation, the report says.

Foresyth told authorities her boyfriend came to visit and brought Mother's Day flowers, adding that the pair has been dating since October.

While the pair were inside the home, the victim received a call from his child's mother, leading to an argument.

Foresyth said that during the argument her boyfriend struck her in the head, causing a contusion on her forehead before she got upset and grabbed a kitchen knife.

After she slashed his tire, Foresyth said her boyfriend became upset and pushed her face into the grass from behind, later adding her boyfriend was trying to strangle her.

Foresyth said she then stabbed her boyfriend in self-defense. She later told authorities she put the knife back in the kitchen after she said it had no blood on it.

She said she then took a shower and left her clothes in the garage.

Foresyth is next due in court June 10 for her arraignment.
