This is the name written on one of the tombstones in Taylor Swift’s “Look What You Made Me Do” video

There is a lot of chatter surrounding Taylor Swift’s latest single, “Look What You Made Me Do,” and its music video. The levels of symbolism could make any semiotics professor’s head spin. For example, did you catch the name written on one of the tombstones in Swift’s zombie scene?

It comes and goes quickly, like most of the other potent symbols representing aspects of Swift’s former self and career. The tombstone to the left of Swift has “Nils Sjoberg” etched into the surface — a name that should ring a bell to those who have followed Swift’s career closely.

You might remember Nils Sjoberg as the co-writer of the Calvin Harris hit, “This Is What You Came For.”

It was later revealed, after Swift and Harris broke off their relationship, that Sjoberg and Swift were one and the same. Swift’s camp also confirmed that Swift was the sole writer of the song.

Harris confirmed the pseudonym while also starting a brief Twitter firestorm regarding Swift’s leaking of the secret. The feud turned into a he-said-she-said situation that was seemingly cleared up at the end of last year.

The EDM DJ tweeted out a thank you to Swift and Rihanna for helping put together this massively successful track.

But the North — er, Taylor Swift — remembers. According to Swift’s latest video, Nils Sjoberg is dead along with the rest of her former selves. Good riddance to the drama that clogged her life before August 2017.

On top of Nils Sjoberg, we saw that $1 Swift sued a Colorado DJ for regarding a previous sexual assault. We saw the “I Heart T.S.” shirt, originally worn by ex, Tom Hiddleston. And was that another Calvin Harris symbol in the Hawaiian shirt Swift wore while cutting a wing off that plane?

Like we said, the symbolism is endless. But the bottom line is — the old T. Swift is dead. Bring on Taylor Swift 2.0!
