Nude woman jumps into Biscayne Bay with baby — then fights with cops who haul them onto boat

A naked woman who jumped into Biscayne Bay with her 3-year-old nephew Thursday morning, causing a commotion that attracted horrified onlookers and law enforcement, is now in much hotter water.

Police say the possibly dangerous dip into the bay was the woman’s escape attempt from a nearby pursing officer. The crime? Destroying park lights.

The unhoused woman, 27, was charged with criminal mischief and resisting arrest without violence.

Around 8 a.m., Marina was caught on CCTV destroying a flood light in Brickell Park, an arrest report read. While she is only seen destroying one, 13 other previously functioning flood lights were left damaged.

Shortly after, a responding Miami officer spotted Marina, her sister and a child on the Bay Walk near Key Point Academy Brickell, 609 Brickell Ave, and tried to stop them, the report read.

But when the trio jumped down the sea wall to escape — the officer followed in hot pursuit. Marina decided to grab the child and dove into the bay, swimming toward Brickell Key.

The woman and the child were eventually plucked from the shallow waters just off Brickell Key, unharmed, by police. The child was returned to his mother — the woman’s sister, police said — and the woman was taken to the hospital for a physical and emotional evaluation.

Social media page Only In Dade posted a 39-second cellphone video Thursday morning capturing the incident that seemed to show the nude woman standing in shallow water between the shoreline and a Miami Marine Patrol boat, holding the infant and also her top — which she swung at an officer aboard the boat.

“The baby’s okay, thank God. And he’s back with his mom,” said Kiara Delva, a Miami Police spokeswoman.
