Nadine Lustre on "Darna": I won't make any assumption
6 May – Although there have been many talks about Nadine Lustre replacing Liza Soberano as the female superhero Darna, the actress herself would rather just go with the flow.
As reported on Rappler, the actress, who was asked again about her chance in playing the Mars Ravelo comic character recently, shared that she will not hold any expectation on whether or not she will get the role.
"I am the kind of person who's not assuming. I know they will give the role to someone who deserves it," she reiterated her previous response, though added, "If they asked me [to audition], of course I would want to do it."
She also expressed gratitude to everybody who has shown support for her to play the role, especially since Darna is the epitome of female empowerment.
"She is a symbol of hope and a protector. So for people to see me as Darna, that's amazing," she said.
