Lumberton man faces attempted murder charges after ‘rolling shooting’ in Myrtle Beach

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) — A Lumberton man is facing multiple attempted murder charges after Myrtle Beach police responded to multiple locations Sunday night as part of a “rolling shooting” incident.

Dwight McCarn, 34, is charged with two counts of attempted murder and one count of possession of a weapon during a violent crime.

Police said they arrived to 14th Ave S. and Kings Highway, 13th Ave S. and Beaver Road and 3rd Ave S. and Kings Highway just before midnight. Officials said two people were arguing over goods when McCarn shot at the other while chasing a car that was trying to get away. There were no reported injuries.

It was the second gun-related call in as many days for city police. On Saturday, Anthony Maurice, 44, Garner of Albemarle, N.C., was charged with murder in the death of Columbia resident Cedric Reddick. Police said the men got into an argument Saturday night over a parking space along N. Ocean Boulevard.

Garner is in the J. Reuben Long Detention Center pending a bond hearing in Horry County Circuit Court.
